Here's the scoop on auditions for the 2008.09 season. Please review each show's acting needs, schedule and audition requirements. There are some variations and there could be updates as the year goes along. Because the season schedule stretches from this September to next June, we will be holding individual show auditions (with one exception in mid-season).
Thanks to the theatre community of Des Moines for your support of StageWest. We welcome all actors to our stage at the Stoner Theatre - regardless of experience, StageWest history, etc. Well over half of our actors last season were making their StageWest debut. We're all about storytelling - stories told with honesty, passion and integrity. We invite you to join us on the edge - the view is exhilarating! (Ron Lambert - Producing Artistic Director)
Location of auditions: In our rehearsal/scene shop space in the The Fitch Building, located at the northwest corner of 15th and Walnut Streets - in the West Gateway area of downtown Des Moines. The StageWest entrance is the single door on the Walnut Street side of the building.
Times for auditions: 2:00 PM on Sundays (except "The Little Dog Laughed" at 6:00) and 7:00 on Mondays. Callback times will be announced at the first audition. Note: The audition start time means the audition starts promptly on time. Please arrive early to complete the audition form and look over the script. Doors will be open 45 minutes before the audition time.
All roles are available - no one has been precast. The age ranges offered are suggestions - the key is your flexibility in playing the age range.
Rehearsals for each production will begin approximately 6 weeks before the opening (slightly earlier for the musical).
Scripts are available for check out. Call or email Ron Lambert, Producing Artistic Director, for details. Please return the scripts within five days - thank you.. Phone: 309.0251 or
