Veronica (Jami Bassman), already scarred by too many failed relationships, finds the world a frightening place. Skylab, an American space station that came crashing down to earth, in particular, haunts and enrages her. So she has committed suicide, and is now in what she expected to be heaven but is, instead, something called the Bardo (the netherworld in Tibetan Buddhism), where her cheery, assigned spirit guide, Maryamma (Rekha Basu), informs her that she must repeatedly be reincarnated until she discover that life is beautiful! But Miss W. is stubborn, so she’s sent back to earth in a dizzying array of roles – a baby, a resident of Massachusetts during the Salem witch trials, a nun in medieval Dusselfdorf, a dance-hall hostess in Wild West Wyoming, one of Rex Harrison’s many wives, even a dog – until she and her soul learn the lessons they must, in order to move on.
